All About Us

We fly, and fight
Those ugly monsters notes,
To save the world songs we sing.

Singing all the high notes in a song and getting the most number of sorethroats per year,
we are known as the members of the
Crescent Chorale's
Soprano One (2009/10) section

Title : A STATE OF ANARCHY,

Tuesday, June 29, 2010 : 8:44 PM

Hi fellow sop one members, as you know, the HK performance wasn't quite a success, sops and altos were totally of different pitch, we went sharp, and not to mention my horrendous piano playing *sobs* I really am very disappointed in myself though :(

Ok, feelings aside, we are now preparing for a performance to open the show for the Hong Kong Childrens' Choir during their tour to Singapore. And as you all know, they're VERY GOOD, AT LEAST better than us. So We were considering or more likely hesitating to accept their invitation. But since they invited us, Ms Chan must think we're good, so all the more we should impress them!

But judging by our current progress, NOT LIKELY. I'll come straight to the point then. We are unresponsive, not teachable and arrogant (Including me).

That includes being not able to change whatever Mrs Lim tells us is wrong, going back to the same mistakes the next practice, not being Flexible enough. Of course, there are people putting alot of effort ( I admit I AM NOT ONE OF THEM) Yah, but alot of effort is not enough, so every time we go back from practice, please look through your scores, MEMORISE ALL DYNAMICS, TONE COLOR, MEANING OF LYRICS AND PRONUNCIATION and stuff like that.\

So let's put all the big talk aside and talk about the songs (thugh)

Ok so we will most likely be doing Salve Regina and Ant's Summer which are basically the two most difficult songs in our entire repertoire *totally suicidal*

So today's tuesday AND BY THURSDAY, EVERYONE SHOULD BE SURE OF THE DYNAMICS AND MEANING OF THE SONGS AND YOU GUYS WILL BE TESTED !?

The following content must be heard evidently through your singing, if not something's obviously has to be done...

SALVE REGINA

  1. Don't drop vowels (For the thousandth time)
  2. VE,ET,TE,EX---AIR! (VAIR,EAIR,TAIR,EAIR)
  3. VI-TA (don't drop the ta)
  4. Start crescendo at  miseri cor de AAA (but don't crescendo too much cos we still have to go to f)
  5. Ad te cla ma mus---sustain---Ex sules fli li i AIR VAE---sustain--*CLIMAX* FLI LI I AIR VAE
  6. Ad te sus pi ra mus -one phrase
  7. ge men tes --Another phrase
  8. Et flen tes--Another phrase
  9. IN AC, IN AC, IN AC,  (each in hac decreasing in intensity)
  10. E JA ERRR GOR - decisive, strong, sure
  11. AD VO CA TA NOSTRRA-- our advocate
  12. MI SE RI
  13. OR CU LOUS
