Title : Sec 1 WelcomingThursday, February 11, 2010 : 8:28 PMHey people!Hope you've enjoyed yourselves, esp the sec 1s. Let's get the stuffs over and done with, before I start crapping again. :) Here are some notes which Ruiting and I have jotted down. Pens and books, ready! 1.warmups: oo-ee-ae, roo-ree-rae, droo-dree-drae (imagine the placement above your head) "uy" (think up and bounce) 2.Paru Parong Bukid: Once again (esp to Sec 2s and 3s), better memorize the song!! Mouth the first consonant or first vowel into breath The "rong" still ain't long enough. Bar 19 high G "pa"-prepare, support, think lower(the support, not the placement of the note), focus the note, relax jaw, bounce back to your forhead. Note the accents!! (Bukid esp) Bar 24- focus, don't be late Rmb the 4 bar phrases! Fluid sound and look at Mrs Lim for direction and pulse) Bar 35- cut of the "gas" in time and breathe before going on to the next verse. Bar 40- "may pay" has to be free and not rigid. DON'T SLOW DOWN after the tenuto. Bar 44- cut off the rest Bar 50to51- come in in time, sing vowels clearly, tip of tongue at the back of teeth, relax jaw, "na la min" should not be too long Bar 50&52- the "at" should be clear, think of "ah" Bar 52- "sa ka la" must be clear Bar 56to59- do a crescendo Bar 60to75- 4 bar, linked fluid phrases Bar 110- sing high G "ro" using tummy. Breathe at the short rest. Bar 111- "uy" is only 1 beat, don't hold for too long. In general : take note of dynamics, pulse(dotted crotchet+quaver esp), rythm(the phrases and links) Yay!! That's almost all for today. :D Btw, I hope that everyone can do sth for me . ^^ Whenever we start singing, no matter a phrase or the entire song, it is very very important that you look at Mrs Lim so that you know when to start. I realize that a lot of time is wasted in every session because she has to wait for all of us to look at her. I hope you can make this a habit so it will be easier for everyone. Also, when other sections are singing, you can discuss your part with your friend, but be alert at all times as it may be our turn to practice anytime. Okay time for me to go! See ya guys next week.
