We fly, and fight
Those ugly monsters notes,
To save the world songs we sing.

Title : Important things to note...

Monday, February 22, 2010 : 8:57 PM

Hey Sop 1s,
ok for the previous choir practice (18/02) here are some points taken down so as to help you all. :) OK. for paru parong bukit
MEMORISE BY TUESDAY (AKA TOMORROW)
  • focus on control and phrases
  • Start the song happy and relaxed and not nervous and tense (gd first impression) :)
  • Bar 13-16 -> very obvious crescendo
  • Bar 15-18 -> hold the 1 beats longer. Split the note into 4 semiquavers and put the ng of rong on the last one
  • Bar 17-19 -> accent the 'pa'
  • Bar 19 -> focus and prepare the high g
  • Bar 24 -> Come in on time
  • Bar 24-40 -> 4 bar phrases
  • Bar 40-41 -> watch her hands for pulse and note that only the 1st note of bar 41 is heavier + longer)
  • Bar 41 -> high f support and focus the note
  • Let the sound be free, relaxed and follow her pulse clearly
  • Bar 40-55 ->don't be late for the tie notes
  • Bar 48-> don't sing too loud. Alto and Sops must be at the same volume
  • Bar 49 -> (rap sa al tar) the al must sing properly and not loosely, focus the vowel
  • Bar 56 -> don't come in late
  • Bar 60 -> don't come in late (come in right after altos sing the uy)
Ok. Sorry if I'm naggy but these are mostly the same mistakes which we have made previously. Please try to memorise the song whether you like it or not and I hope that you would copy all these into your scores or choir diaries. On a brighter note, we will be singing new songs tomorrow and hopefully that will be fun and refreshing. (Seniors bring ant summer and joiku)

Remember, Choirs should NEVER follow their conductor.
They should always BE WITH them
XOXO,
Your SLs
